THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS MOUNTAIN

Mountains, like every good story, have two sides.

Showbusiness will only show you theirs - the sunny face, the high life, the promise of a view. But climb enough and you’ll find the other side…the one they don’t put in the postcards. It’s steep, unforgiving, and one wrong step will send you tumbling a long way down.

This album delivers on the promise of a good view, but it comes with a warning label - it’ll tell both sides, the ups and the downs, the good and the bad, about a world that’s full of both. These songs are the stories of the mountains that I've climbed. They’ve built me up and worn me out,  threatened to take my very life - and given me the perspective needed to make my story count.

By the time you're on the other side of hearing,

I hope you see some things differently, as I do.

How I came to this Mountain...

Virginia – The Roots

I was born in Harrisonburg and raised in Charlottesville, where the Blue Ridge shadows stretch long and the land still remembers its history. Virginia gave me my roots — the ballads, the hymns, the folk tales passed down like heirlooms. It’s where I learned that every story has two sides, and that truth sounds best when it’s carried on a guitar.

Mexico & Southern Florida – The Rhythm

Later, I found my way south, where the air was hotter and the nights alive with Brazilian and Spanish jazz. From Mexico’s streets to Florida’s coastal bars, I soaked in the rhythms that moved people before they understood a word. That sway, that heartbeat, still pulses through my songs — a reminder that music is its own language, alive in every culture.

Texas – The Fire

Texas brought me the grit. From honky-tonks to wide-open highways, I found the sound of country swagger and rockabilly fire. It’s a place where the music has muscle, where the stories aren’t just sung but shouted, stomped, and lived out loud. That’s where I learned to play it hard, play it honest, and let the walls shake with every chorus.

"We all have a mountain in front of us, by way of chance or of our own making. Here's to getting to the other side, looking back and knowing that it was worth it all along. Now let's Giddy Up!"
